Some rooms in your home feel colder than others, even when all of your radiators are switched on
Your radiators feel warm at the top but cold at the bottom.
You need to bleed your radiators more frequently.
Your boiler is increasingly noisy (although this can also be a sign of other issues)
Discoloured water when you bleed your radiators.
Cloudy tap water in instances where there is a significant build-up of limescale
A limited hot water supply or possibly no hot water at all, even when your heating has been switched on for some time.
It takes a long time for your Central Heating System to warm up.
Radiator and Central Heating Experts
A drop in boiler pressure usually means a leak. I’m Dave, a Gas Safe engineer who knows how to trace leaks in complex heating systems. Whether it’s a weeping radiator valve in Sutton Coldfield or an internal boiler leak in Edgbaston, I provide a safe, permanent fix to keep your Harborne home warm.
Signs that your Central Heating System may need cleaning
Chemical Flush
This method involves circulating the cleaning chemicals in your system and then flushing with clean water.

MagnaCleanse ®
This method filters your Central Heating System water through the MagnaCleanse ® and all unwanted elements, sludge, dirt etc are removed by 2 strong and powerful magnets.

PowerFlush
This method is a deep clean of your Central Heating System using varied chemicals and high pressure water flow.

After Cleaning: Advantages
- Helps to prevent your boiler getting clogged up and breaking down.
- Helps to keep your system working more efficiently and for longer, reducing the chances of your heating system breaking down and saving you money on your GAS BILL!
- Rids your Central Heating System of sludge and this stops the sludge from corroding and damaging your system.
- Ensures that heat is distributed evenly throughout your home.

Radiators
Today you have the choice of traditional radiators and also designer radiators that come in all different colours, styles and shapes.
Radiators are becoming a fashion accessory in modern homes.
Radiator Problems?
- Do you have one radiator that always feels cool, when the others are hot?
- Does one seem warm at the bottom but not at the top?
- Is the bottom of your radiator cold, but the middle to top hot?
- Is there a blue/green drip coming down one of your radiators?

Boiler & Central Heating Leaks FAQ's
My boiler pressure keeps dropping to zero; what should I do?
First, check your radiators for damp valves. If they are dry, the leak might be inside the boiler’s heat exchanger or on a pipe hidden under the floor. As a Gas Safe engineer, I can safely open the boiler to find and fix the internal fault.
Are "leak sealer" additives safe for my system?
I generally advise against them for high-end systems. They can clog up your pump or heat exchanger. A mechanical repair is always the safer, permanent solution for your central heating.
Can a leaking radiator valve be fixed without draining the whole house?
Yes. I use professional "freezing" kits to isolate the pipework around the radiator in your Edgbaston home. This allows me to swap the valve without the mess and time of a full system drain-down.
